The Beau Vallon MTB Challenge is back this year for its fifth edition. Organized by the Beau Vallon Company Limited on May 13 and 14, 2023, this mountain bike competition encourages enthusiasts and professionals to push their limits while exploring the authenticity of the Southeast. Over the course of the two days, participants will be able to take part in two day races and one night race, each offering a unique course ranging from 20 km to 60 km, with a vertical drop ranging from 250 m to 920 m.
“Since the beginning of this year, we have reviewed the usual courses with the objective of finding new paths to improve the edition from year to year, taking into account the opinions of the runners,” says Sebastien Hacques, Race Director. Several categories are eligible to compete such as Elite (16 to 39 years old), Masters 2 (40 to 49 years old), Masters 3 (+50 years old) and Buffalos (+90kg). “Competitors will face even greater challenges throughout this event, including technical trails and technical climbs.”
An eco-responsible sports adventure.
Christophe Curé, Group Property Manager of the Compagnie de Beau Vallon Limitée expressed his expectations for this 2023 edition stating that it “fits perfectly into our strategy of developing the leisure pole of the group which will be based on land and marine ecotourism. This competition is particularly important because it combines two of our company’s values, which are resilience and excellence. We want to make the Beau Vallon MTB Challenge a major local and international sporting event, ensuring its long-term sustainability.
Yannick Lincoln, winner of the previous edition shared his memories during his last MTB: “This competition always remains a pleasure for a rider for its spectacular trails and the scenic beauty of the nooks and crannies of Riche en Eau that are emblematic of the natural heritage of the Southeast.” Bike cleaning and maintenance services will be available on site as well as massages for bikers. The Beau Vallon MTB Challenge is therefore an eco-responsible sporting adventure, an opportunity to share moments with family and friends while discovering the beauties of the Southeast of the island.

This competition includes a 120 km stage race (2 days), a 40 km adventure race (1 day) and a 20 km Fun Race (1 day)
Solo stage race : 120 km
May 13 – Stage 1 – 60km & Stage 2- 20km & May 14 – Stage 3 – 40 km
Stage 1
Discovery race : Saturday May 13, 60 km/920 m D+, departure at 8:00 am at the Club House of Riche-en-Eau – arrival in the yard of the factory of Riche-en-Eau.
Stage 2
Circuit Nocturne : Saturday May 13th, 20 km/250 m D+, 6.30 pm, departure and arrival in the yard of the factory of Riche-en-Eau.
Stage 3
Adventure Race: Sunday May 14th, 40 km/600m D+, 8:30 am, start and finish at the Castle of Riche-en-Eau
Sunday Fun Race: May 14 – 20 km – D+ 300m
Sunday, May 14: 20 km / 300m D+ 8:30 am, departure and arrival at the Castle of Riche-en-Eau.
