The new president of Business Mauritius, Jean-Pierre Dalais, takes office in a context of economic recovery stimulated by the reopening of the borders. He says he is grateful for the trust placed in him by the association’s members. “It is an honor to take up this new position alongside Anil Currimjee, Managing Director of Currimjee Jeewanjee & Co. Ltd, the entire board and the executive team of Business Mauritius. I would like to thank all our members for their confidence and tell them that I am aware of the responsibility we have in a difficult and uncertain economic and health context. The pandemic has allowed us to highlight the importance of our local businesses but also our dependence on the outside world. However, I am convinced that our country has all the necessary assets to strengthen the resilience of our economy and to look to the future by seizing new growth opportunities. We will be keen to continue the good dynamic of dialogue and partnership established with the government, which is now bearing fruit with the recovery of tourism. This will be a determining factor in re-starting a virtuous circle together, which we hope will be inclusive and environmentally sustainable,” he said. The new board consists of Jean-Pierre Dalais, Anil Currimjee, Arnaud Lagesse, Madhavi Ramdin Clark, Philippe Espitalier-Noël and Jean Li Yuen Fong.
